ITALY EXTENDS TAX INCENTIVES TO FOREIGN PRODUCERS

ROME (March 3, 2011) Foreign producers planning to film at Cinecittà Studios in Rome will be able save money by basing their productions at the legendary studio. The Italian government has announced that they will extend the tax incentives, which were established in 2009, through 2013

DANTE FERRETTI: PRODUCTION DESIGNER : U.S. Premiere Celebrated at Los Angeles Italia Festival

(March 3, 2011) – The US premiere of Dante Ferretti: Production Designer, a documentary directed by Gianfranco Giagni and produced by Cinecittá Studios, Nicomax Cinematografica and Combo Film, was held on February 25, 2011 as part of the prestigious Los Angeles Italia Film, Fashion and Art Festival.  The film, which celebrates Italian production designer Dante Ferretti was first shown at the 67th Venice Film Festival where Ferretti and his wife and frequent collaborator, set decorator Francesca Lo Schiavo, were presented with the prestigious Prix White.

NEW TAX EXEMPTION PAVES THE WAY FOR ROBUST PRODUCTION YEAR AHEAD AT CINECITTÁ STUDIOS

(February 9, 2011) A recent revised interpretation of tax law by the Italian government allows film productions to be classified under Cultural Affairs and thus renders them exempt from paying the VAT tax. Confirmed this month, the new rule is great news for Cinecittá Studios and paves the way for a robust tax break for many production companies that utilize our facilities.
